Installing the Live Chat Widget Step 1: Go to Settings > Live Chat > Installation Step 2: You'll see your unique chat widget code (HTML snippet) Step 3: Copy the entire code Step 4: Log in to your website's content management system (WordPress, Shopify, etc.) Step 5: Paste the code before the closing </body> tag on your website Step 6: Save your website changes Step 7: Test the chat widget by visiting your website Customizing the Widget Appearance Personalize your chat widget to match your brand identity and website design.
Customization options include colors, placement, messaging, and behavior.
• Colors: Match your brand color scheme for the chat box header and buttons • Position: Choose bottom-left, bottom-right, or center placement on your website • Size: Set the height and width of the chat window • Greeting Message: Customize the initial message visitors see • Name: Display your business name or a team member name • Avatar: Upload your company logo or a team photo • Offline Message: Show a custom message when your team is offline Chat Triggers and Automation Use triggers to automatically open the chat widget or show messages based on visitor behavior.
This helps engage visitors at the right moment.
• Time-based: Open chat after visitor has been on page for X seconds • Exit-intent: Show chat when visitor is about to leave your site • Page-specific: Display chat only on certain pages (pricing, product, etc.) • Scroll-based: Show chat when visitor scrolls to a specific point • Device-based: Display different options for mobile vs desktop • Custom conditions: Trigger based on URL parameters or custom variables Chat Widget Settings Availability and Hours Set business hours for when the chat widget is active.
Outside these hours, you can show an offline message or redirect visitors to email/form.
