    Every website, funnel, and landing page you publish needs a privacy policy to comply with data protection regulations and build trust with your visitors. Lead Fuel CRM provides tools to create and display privacy policies on your pages.

    Why You Need a Privacy Policy

    A privacy policy is a legal requirement in most jurisdictions when you collect personal data from website visitors. This includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, cookies, and any other identifying information gathered through forms, chat widgets, or tracking scripts.

    • Legal Compliance: Required by regulations including GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), CAN-SPAM, and many others.
    • Ad Platform Requirements: Facebook, Google, and other advertising platforms require a privacy policy on any page you run ads to.
    • Payment Processing: Stripe and other payment processors require a privacy policy on pages that accept payments.

    Creating a Privacy Policy Page

    Step 1:Navigate to Sites > Funnels or Sites > Websites.
    Step 2:Create a new page or add a new step to an existing funnel dedicated to your privacy policy.
    Step 3:Use a text element to add your privacy policy content. You can write your own or use a privacy policy generator tool.
    Step 4:Include sections covering: what data you collect, how you use it, how you store and protect it, third-party sharing, cookie usage, and how users can request data deletion.
    Step 5:Add a link to this page in the footer of every page on your site and funnels.

    Key Sections to Include

    • Information We Collect: List the types of personal data you gather (names, emails, phone numbers, payment info, browsing data, etc.).
    • How We Use Your Information: Explain the purposes (marketing, service delivery, communication, analytics).
    • Data Storage & Security: Describe how data is stored and what security measures are in place.
    • Third-Party Sharing: Disclose if data is shared with any third parties (payment processors, email providers, analytics tools).
    • Cookies & Tracking: Explain what cookies and tracking technologies are used on your site.
    • Your Rights: Inform visitors of their rights to access, modify, or delete their personal data.
    • Contact Information: Provide a way for visitors to reach you with privacy-related questions.

    Adding Privacy Links to Your Pages

    Once your privacy policy page is created, add a link to it in the footer of all your funnels, websites, and landing pages. This is typically done by adding a text or link element in the footer section of your page template.

    Step 1:Open the page editor for your funnel or website.
    Step 2:Scroll to the footer section (or create one if it does not exist).
    Step 3:Add a text element with links to your Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages.
    Step 4:Save and publish. The footer will appear on every page that uses this template.

    Cookie Consent Banners

    If your site uses cookies (including analytics tracking and advertising pixels), many regulations require you to display a cookie consent banner. You can add a cookie consent widget through the page editor's custom code section or by using a third-party consent management tool.
