    SSL Certificates

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates encrypt the connection between your visitors' browsers and your website, ensuring data is transmitted securely. Lead Fuel CRM automatically provisions SSL certificates for all connected custom domains.

    Automatic Ssl Provisioning

When you connect a custom domain to Lead Fuel CRM, an SSL certificate is automatically generated and installed:

    • SSL certificates are issued automatically once your domain's DNS records are verified.
    • The certificate is renewed automatically before it expires, so no manual action is required.
    • SSL typically activates within minutes of successful domain verification.
    • Once active, your site will be accessible via HTTPS (e.g., https://www.yourbusiness.com).

    Https Enforcement

Lead Fuel CRM automatically redirects HTTP traffic to HTTPS for all connected domains:

    • Visitors who type "http://yourbusiness.com" are automatically redirected to "https://yourbusiness.com."
    • This ensures all traffic to your site is encrypted and secure.
    • HTTPS is required for modern web security and is a ranking factor in search engine algorithms.
    • All forms, payment pages, and login pages are served over HTTPS for data protection.

    Troubleshooting Ssl Errors

If you encounter SSL errors after connecting a domain, try these steps:

Step 1:Verify that your DNS records are correctly pointing to Lead Fuel CRM. Incorrect DNS records are the most common cause of SSL issues.
Step 2:Wait up to 24 hours after DNS changes for SSL to provision. The certificate cannot be issued until DNS propagation is complete.
Step 3:Check for conflicting DNS records. Remove any old A records or CNAME records that conflict with the new ones.
Step 4:If using Cloudflare, set the proxy status to "DNS Only" (gray cloud) rather than "Proxied" (orange cloud) for the Lead Fuel CRM CNAME record.
Step 5:Clear your browser cache and try accessing the site in an incognito or private window.
Step 6:If the issue persists, contact Lead Fuel CRM support with your domain name and a screenshot of the error.

    Common Ssl Errors

    • "Your connection is not private": Usually means the SSL certificate has not been provisioned yet. Wait for DNS propagation to complete.
    • "ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH": Often caused by conflicting Cloudflare settings. Disable the Cloudflare proxy for your Lead Fuel CRM records.
    • Mixed Content Warning: Your page is loading some resources over HTTP instead of HTTPS. Update all links and embedded content to use HTTPS.

Tip: Always test your domain in an incognito browser window after connecting it. Cached data from previous visits can mask SSL issues or show outdated versions of your site.
