Tax Configuration
Lead Fuel CRM allows you to configure tax rates for your products and invoices to ensure accurate billing and compliance with local tax regulations.
Setting Up Tax Rates
Step 1:Navigate to Settings > Payments > Taxes.
Step 2:Click "Add Tax Rate" to create a new tax configuration.
Step 3:Enter the tax name (e.g., "Sales Tax," "VAT," "GST").
Step 4:Set the tax percentage rate.
Step 5:Choose whether the tax applies to all products or only specific categories.
Step 6:Select the regions or locations where this tax rate applies.
Step 7:Save the tax rate.
Tax Categories
Organize your taxes by category for businesses operating in multiple jurisdictions:
- Create separate tax rates for different states, provinces, or countries.
- Assign products to specific tax categories based on their type.
- Some products may be tax-exempt; configure exemptions as needed.
Applying Taxes to Invoices and Orders
- Automatic Application: When enabled, taxes are automatically calculated and applied to invoices and orders based on the customer's location and the product's tax category.
- Manual Override: You can manually adjust or remove tax charges on individual invoices when needed.
- Tax Display: Choose whether to show tax as included in the price or added on top.
Tax Reporting
Lead Fuel CRM tracks all tax collected across your transactions:
- View total tax collected for any date range.
- Filter by tax type, rate, or jurisdiction.
- Export tax data for your accountant or tax filing purposes.
- Generate tax summary reports by month, quarter, or year.
Tip: Consult with your accountant or tax advisor to determine the correct tax rates for your products and services. Tax regulations vary significantly by location and product type, and proper configuration from the start prevents billing issues down the road.
