Triggers Explained

AUTOMATION Triggers Explained Understanding Triggers A trigger is the event that starts your automation.

It's the "if" in "if this, then that." Triggers detect specific actions or changes in your Lead Fuel CRM account and launch the associated workflow.

You can have only one trigger per automation, but that trigger can start complex, branching workflows.

Available Triggers • Form Submission: Triggered when a contact submits a form on your website • Tag Added: Triggered when a specific tag is manually added or automatically assigned to a contact • Tag Removed: Triggered when a tag is removed from a contact • Appointment Scheduled: Triggered when an appointment is booked in your calendar • Appointment Completed: Triggered after an appointment concludes • Appointment No-Show: Triggered when a scheduled appointment is marked as a no-show • Contact Created: Triggered when a new contact is manually added to your CRM • Contact Stage Changed: Triggered when a contact's pipeline stage is updated • Contact Custom Field Updated: Triggered when a specific custom field value changes • Deal Created: Triggered when a new deal is created in your pipeline • Deal Stage Changed: Triggered when a deal moves to a different pipeline stage • Deal Completed: Triggered when a deal is marked as won or closed • Webhook Event: Triggered by external applications sending data to a custom webhook URL Choosing the Right Trigger Select a trigger that matches the event you want to respond to.

For lead capture, use Form Submission.

For follow-ups based on contact status, use Tag Added or Contact Stage Changed.

For post-appointment actions, use Appointment Completed or Appointment No-Show.

Most automations use simple, single triggers that are easy to understand and maintain.
